HOW DOES IT FEEL?

A phobia consists of overwhelming loads of anxiety and stress. Physical symptoms relating to phobias may include dizziness, a rapid heartbeat and excessive sweating.

 

WHY DOES IT HAPPEN?

Phobias are largely developed with experiences. The major origin of a phobia is rooted in past negative interactions with a certain activity or object. However, genetics can still play a role.

 

WHEN DOES IT HAPPEN?

Phobias are triggered by contact with the subject which brings the individual fear. An example of this is a person with arachnophobia feeling intense emotions of terror when seeing a spider in their room.

 

WHAT IMPACT DOES IT HAVE?

Phobias can cause a constant state of anxiety and depression. It can also create a sense of loneliness and isolation and can push an individual to avoid places and situations which require them to get close to the subject which brings them this distress.
